Mother's Day, we went on a hike to the Shenk's Ferry Wildflower Preserve . It is home to about 73 different species of wildflowers. The location gets its name from the Shenk family, who used to operate a ferry across the Susquehanna River. When one gets down to the creek, it is much cooler. You can feel cool air coming through the piled rocks providing much appreciated respite. I have just started hiking again due to my orthopedic issues... I found it very helpful to walk with two hiking sticks. It feels a little like going cross country skiing but it helps.
