Follow up to Last Two Posts

I spent an hour by myself in the greenhouse on Friday, watering and then spraying for mealybug and aphids. I snapped a couple of pictures with my camera phone (so pardon the quality) since I left the other camera at home. I have questions...

The first picture is looking into the pitcher of the bromiliad. I think this is the beginning of the flower... what do you think?

The next picture is of the green berries that are getting slightly larger on the Ficus Benjamina. The black thing in the picture is a chair. I didn't see it when I snapped the picture.
I jokingly call them figlets. But does anyone know what they really are? Just berries? Edible?

Happy Gardening!
